2010 FIVE SEASONS INVITATIONALMarching Band FestivalSaturday, October 2, 2010Dear Director, On behalf of the Cedar Rapids Community School District and the bands of Jefferson, Kennedy and Washington High School, we would like to invite your marching band to participate in the 2010 Five Seasons Invitational Marching Band Festival to be held on Saturday, October 2, 2010. The event will be held in Kingston Stadium, which is reputed to be the largest high school stadium in the state with a seating capacity of 16,000. Features 1. Caption Awards for Winds, Percussion, Color Guard, and Drum Majors will be presented in EACH class! 2. Kingston Stadium is a classic, coliseum-style stadium and is currently undergoing a make-over! Next fall, as your band enters the field for performance through the stadium tunnel, you will notice: · SYNTHETIC TURF · BRIGHTER LIGHTING · IMPROVED SOUND SYSTEM The panel for the Five Seasons Invitational will consist of adjudicators from Iowa and neighboring states. The entry fee has not changed and continues to be $125.00. Checks should be made out to Jefferson High School. The first 24 bands to return the application form (by FAX or mail) to the Jefferson Band office will be accepted. These entries should be mailed or FAXED to: Thad K. Driskell Jefferson High School 1243 20th Street SW Cedar Rapids, Iowa 52404 (319) 398-2149 FAX This event is sanctioned by the Iowa High School Music Association. Trophies will be awarded for placement in each class with caption awards for Overall Best Winds, Best Percussion, Best Color Guard, and Best Drum Majors also presented in each class. The festival is set to begin at 3:00 P.M. with awards scheduled for 10:15 P.M. Please return the enclosed combination entry/publicity form and entry fee at your earliest convenience or at the latest by Friday, September 3, 2010 if you plan to join us.
