Division I Reminder

posted Oct 12, 2014, 9:53 AM by NEIBA Webmaster

Hello Iowa HS directors.   I hope you are enjoying a successful fall
marching season!   This email is just to remind you that if your band
earned a division I at IHSMA State Marching Festival, we invite you to
submit your information for publication in the IBA magazine.   It is a
simple online process that only takes a few minutes.    You can follow
the link HERE or access it from the homepage of the state IBA website
in the "Important Links" column.   The information you provide about
your successful performance is useful to directors across the state
and it also gives your program some well-deserved recognition.   We
encourage you to participate!

Thank you, and best wishes,

Mentorship Dinner

posted Aug 17, 2014, 6:53 AM by NEIBA Webmaster

Dear NEIBA Members:

We start each new year with a Mentorship “Hang” dinner, which alternates between Dubuque and Cedar Falls. This is a great way to welcome our newest members and give them an opportunity to network with our members in a casual atmosphere.

This year’s dinner will be in Cedar Falls on Wednesday, September 3, at the Hilton Garden Inn, located at 7213 Nordic Drive in Cedar Falls.  From US 20 take the highway 58/27 exit and go north to Ridgeway Avenue. Turn left on Ridgeway and take the first right turn you come to. This is Nordic Drive and you will see the Hilton Garden Inn from there.  We will begin with social hour at 6:00 with a cash bar and have our meeting and buffet dinner at 7:00. Members will be expected to pay for their dinner ($18) and NEIBA will pay for the dinners for all 1st and 2nd year teachers.  The dinner will be an Italian buffet that includes Lasagne Bolognese, Penne a la Vodka, Chicken Scaloppini with mushroom madeira sauce, grilled vegetables (tomato/asparagus/artichoke), Caesar salad, an artisan bread display, and water/coffee/iced tea. As I mentioned earlier, we will also have a cash bar.

As soon as I have paired mentors and mentees, please contact and invite your mentee to the dinner. All members are welcome to attend. I would like you to e-mail an RSVP to me so I can get a count of how many we will be serving. Thanks!

I look forward to making new friends and seeing those of you I have known for many years!
