Good News!

The Iowa Department of Education is inviting you to attend the Fine Arts in Iowa Core Conference on June 25, 2012. This is an opportunity for you and your colleagues to experience the Fine Arts in Iowa Core highlighting the disciplines of General Music, Instrumental Music, Drama/Theatre Arts, Visual Arts, and Vocal Music at NO COST to you. The conference will be held at the Ramada Tropics on Merle Hay Road in Urbandale.

The day includes presentations covering the writing process to create the skills and concepts per arts discipline, research about transferable skills between arts, mathematics and science, as well as sample lessons, formative assessments, and discussions with colleagues on how to use the fine arts skills and concepts in your classroom this fall.
